Providing character beanies to children battling cancer or any disease-causing hair loss.
Dream Makers is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Lafayette, TN. Wanting to give back because we have received so richly, we began this ministry in January of 2018. Inspired by The Magic Yarn Project, we knew this was the project that had found our hearts.
We give children experiencing hair loss a chance to dream and escape their disease by providing princess, superhero, and character beanies. These beanies also lift their self-esteem.
Very often, chemotherapy treatments leave young scalps too sensitive for traditional beanies. Our beanies are practical because they provide warmth, hold in body heat, and are softer on a tender scalp.
We have personally witnessed the transformation in a child when they receive one of our beanies. It raises their self-esteem, lifts their spirits, and lights up their beautiful faces. Our beanies also give these very sick and scared children a chance to dream and pretend that they are princesses, superheroes, or any character they want to become. They are machine washable! (please read the instructions supplied with each beanie).
“You are beautiful, strong and brave” goes on every card we send with our beanies because these children are just that.
Princesses and superheroes inspire courage, determination, and fight.
Currently, we are sending our beanies to three hospitals in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of Texas, The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and Tri-Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
These beanies are provided to the child at no cost to their family. We operate 100% from your generous donations.
We always need donations to buy yarn, ribbons, gemstones and to pay shipping costs. If you would like to donate, you may do so either by the PayPal link at the top of this page or by sending a check. No donation is too small!

We have and will try to fill all requests.
